Sell your car for cash in Georgia
Selling an older car privately means listings, calls, test drives, and strangers at your door. Trade-ins often don't offer much for an aging vehicle. If you'd rather make one request and get a straight answer, tell us about the car. A valid title is required.
A vehicle title is required
We only buy vehicles that come with a valid title. If you can't locate your title, you'll need to get a replacement before we can make an agreement. We'll go over the title details with you when you request a quote.
Lost title? In Georgia, you can apply for a replacement title at your county tag office using Form MV-1 (Title/Tag Application). The Georgia Department of Revenue lists the requirements and fees. Georgia DOR: replace a lost or stolen title
When selling to us makes sense
We're a practical option when the car is older, high-mileage, needs work, or isn't worth the effort of a private sale. It's also a fit when you need the vehicle gone and want the sale handled directly.
If your car is newer and in good shape, a private sale or dealer may get you more. We'd rather you know that up front.
Comparing your options
Each way of selling an older car has trade-offs.
- Private sale: can bring in more money, but takes the most time and effort, and means dealing with buyers directly
- Dealer trade-in: convenient when you're buying another car, but offers on older vehicles can be low
- Selling to a car buyer like us: one request, a direct answer, and terms confirmed before you agree
Paperwork for a Georgia sale
You'll need the vehicle title. When the sale is completed, the title is signed over to the buyer. We'll walk you through where to sign.
After the sale, keep your license plate and cancel or transfer your insurance. Keep a copy of any sale documents for your records.
Pickup and towing
We do not offer free towing. If your vehicle needs to be picked up or towed, we'll explain any cost and confirm it with you before you agree to sell. Nothing is charged or deducted without your agreement.
Sell my car for cash: questions
Can I sell a car that still has a loan on it?
The lien must be resolved before the title can be transferred. Tell us about the loan when you request a quote and we'll explain whether we can work with your situation.
Is my car too new or too nice for you?
We'll review any vehicle you send us. If your car is in good condition, a private sale or dealer may offer more. We'll be straight with you about it.
What happens to my insurance after I sell?
Contact your insurer to cancel coverage or move it to another vehicle once the sale is complete. Don't cancel before the vehicle has changed hands.
Offer, payment, and eligibility
- How offers work
- The amount we can offer depends on the vehicle's year, make, model, condition, and other factors. A quote is an estimate until we confirm the vehicle and the title. We don't promise a specific amount before that.
- Payment
- We'll tell you how and when you'll be paid before you agree to anything, so there are no surprises at handoff.
- Vehicle eligibility
- Before we arrange anything, we'll confirm whether we can buy your vehicle. Tell us the year, make, model, condition, and ZIP code and we'll let you know.
- Where we buy
- We serve customers in the state of Georgia. Share your ZIP code when you request a quote and we'll confirm availability for your area.
